Hickory & Oak Custom Sawmilling- Lumber

Are you tired of paying high prices for hardwood lumber? Buy directly from the sawmill and you can cut out the middleman allowing your lumber dollar to go Load of Lumbermuch further. We saw and kiln dry our own lumber so that quality is guaranteed and prices are the most reasonable that we can make them. Shop around with some of the big lumber suppliers and we think you will agree with us about the reasonable prices.

We stock native Great lake’s region hardwoods which include Red and White Oak, Maple, Cherry, Hickory, Sassafras, Poplar, Walnut. Depending on availability we also offer specialty items such as Red Elm, O’sage Orange, Catalpa, Butternut, curly and spalted wood as well as turning blanks. Our specialty is quarter sawn lumber-mainly Red and White Oak and Sycamore. We quarter saw more Oak then we flat saw and we separate out the rift from the quartered so you can buy just what want.

Load of LumberMost of our lumber is kiln dried to 6-7% moisture content in one of our three dry kilns but we also offer green and air-dried lumber. We can surface or straight line rip your lumber as well.

If you are looking for something special like a fireplace mantel or an Oak beam for your great room let us know and we will be glad to help you out.

Availability and prices vary so give us a call or fill out the contact form and we will send you a current price list. We are generally open during the week from 9:00am to 1pm and most (but not all) Saturdays. Make sure you call or send us and email ahead of time to verify that someone is here to help you.

We can package and ship to anywhere in the U.S. or Canada in amounts from a few to thousands of board feet. Custom delivery is also available in certain areas. Give us a call to get a free shipping quote.

In the warmer months we have pioneered what we call "Lumber Runs" where we pack a truck full of pre-ordered lumber and head to a host location. Currently we routinely go to Chicago suburbs and Ann Arbor Michigan on an annual basis. Contact us if your woodworking club or group would like to host a lumber run.
